Zigmas “Ziggy” Polinauskas is an up-and-coming litigator who focuses his practice in the areas of civil and commercial litigation. Ziggy comes from a litigation practice defending doctors and other medical professionals in medical malpractice lawsuits as well as defending businesses in tort cases. Ziggy also has experience supporting medical practices with regulatory compliance and business issues as well as assisting medical professionals with state board matters.

Prior to practice, Ziggy clerked for the Honorable Alan B. Johnson at the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming. However, Ziggy’s legal career began much earlier, when he started as a paralegal in 2015, working for a litigation firm and subsequently, for the State of Colorado, where he worked full-time while attending the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. While attending law school, in addition to a full-time job, Ziggy was an extern for Justice William W. Hood III at the Colorado Supreme Court as well as an intern at the University of Denver Veterans Advocacy Project. He was also a staff editor and later an articles editor at the Sturm College of Law Water Law Review.

Zigmas (derived from the Old High German “Sigimund,” meaning Victory and Protector) was born and grew up in Lithuania. He came to the United States to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies.

In his free time, Ziggy spends time with his family, plays basketball, soccer, and other sports, enjoys the Colorado outdoors, and works on his project cars.
