Doug Richards and Chris Carrington have both been recognized as rising stars by Super Lawyers. The Rising Star list is developed using a similar selection process as the Super Lawyers list. A candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. Up to 5 percent of the lawyers in a state are named to Super Lawyers, however no more than 2.5 percent are named to Rising Stars. The attorneys that do not make the Super Lawyers list but meet these requirements will go through a different selection process to be listed as a Rising Star.
