Doug Richards and Chris Carrington opened Richards Carrington, a practice focused on litigation, in January 2016. Both started as prosecutors in separate district attorney’s offices and have a combined experience of 200 jury trials. They met as neighbors at a private firm when Richards was subleasing space from Foster Graham Milstein & Calisher.overnment, Carrington’s last firm.

Their new practice will focus on cases that they feel are most likely to go to court. Their approach will be very selective in the hopes of being more responsive to the clients. Having fewer cases will allow them to guarantee a partner will always handle the casework. This is in contrast to most larger firms that end up having an associate with less experience handling the case.

The firm has also hired two of-counsel lawyers, former Colorado state public defender Todd Mair and Los Angeles-based attorney Steve Weisskop.
